Once upon a time, there was a nerdfighter named Paige, who tended to like fictional characters more than she liked most real people. She lived wishing there was a world full of people like her, who understood that characters weren't just characters, stories weren't just stories, and dandelions weren't just dandelions. One day, on a stroll through the Interwebs, she stumbled across a land called Tumblr, and this blog happened.

I have preordered The Hunger Games on three different websites.

My bank account is all like

But I’m all like

we’re backed against the wall the crowd are screaming for blood
two young lovers lost in this frozen universe
star-crossed and holding on to anything that floats

And I am done with my graceless heart
So I’m gonna cut it out and then restart

“on the seventy-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest among them cannot overcome the power of the Capitol, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors.”

geaimocoeur:

But love is not a victory marchIt’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn’t muchI couldn’t feel, so I tried to touchI’ve told the truth, I didn’t come to fool youAnd even though it all went wrongI’ll stand before the Lord of SongWith nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

I haven’t yet mentioned this, but I absolutely love that they had Snow say this in the movie. It shows what a perfect villain he is— he’s all like, “we have to squash this hope stuff because it’s messing with the fact that my entire system operates on fear.” He’s capable of saying something so completely true and beautiful, and then twisting it around a second later to be cruel and oppressive. That, to me, is a true villain. One who knows how to be good, but instead uses that knowledge for evil. Who messes with your head and turns positive into negative, right into wrong.

“Come in come in my father dear
and spend this hour with me
For I have a meal and a very fine meal
I fixed it up for thee thee
I fixed it up for thee”
“No I ain’t coming in, no I ain’t coming in
To spend this hour with thee
For I have to go down in the mines
I’ll return this night to thee thee
I’ll return this night to thee”
Then she got up her arrow and her bow
Her arrow and her string
And then she went down to the forest deep
And sweetly she did sing sing
And sweetly she did sing
Up spoke, up spoke a mocking jay.
Up from a willow tree
Saying, “you had a father in the mines
Who’s gone this day from thee thee
Who’s gone this day from thee”
“Woe be woe be oh mockingjay
Woe be woe be to thee
I’ll send an arrow through your heart
For to bring such news to me me
For to bring such news to me”
Up spoke, up spoke that mocking jay
“Don’t waste your time with me
Go home and mind that pretty little girl
Her father no more to see see
Her father no more to see”
It’s she went home to her house that night
That house so cold and mean
And she held her sister close to her side
And never more did sing sing
And never more did sing

Song: The Hanging Tree (fan arrangement)
Artist: Adriana Figueroa

Adriana Figueroa’s version of The Hanging Tree (adrisaurus on YouTube). *FLAILS* I am listening to it on repeat and trying not to think about the fact that this will [probably] not be the version they use in the movie.
